Residential development of the old Couture site has been approved by Blaby District Council. The Parish Council's comments were considered but were not felt to be valid reasons for changing their decision. One of the conditions of approval is that certain sums of money will given by the developers for education, medical services, and formal recreation when the development is completed. The funds for formal recreation will be used within Stoney Stanton but will be held at Blaby District Council until a proposal is approved for use of the funds. The Parish Council will be looking at putting together a plan which will make use of the funds which will have to be agreed by the District Council. No proposals have yet been discussed nor any decision made as to what the funds will be used for. The funds for medical services will also go locally, but the education funds will most likely go to the high schools and not Manorfield. This has not yet been finally agreed. |
